Adventure Facilitator (Clerk Grade 7/8) - Oberon Correctional Centre
Permanent, Full time position.

Vacancy Number: 08018. Total remuneration package valued at $84,855 pa including salary range of $69,468 pa to $76,896 pa, employer’s contribution to superannuation and leave loading. Responsible facilitation of Gurnang Life Challenge program, a series of adventure/experiential learning courses for offenders, with view to reducing offending behaviours and to encourage integration of offenders into the community.

Selection Criteria: Qualified instructor in Certificate IV Outdoor Recreation. Demonstrated ability and qualifications in instructing abseiling, wilderness expedition leadership and High Challenge Ropes Courses. Possess Leader Wilderness First Aid qualification. Demonstrated abilities in facilitating adventure/experiential/ learning techniques and motivating participants. Ability to work with people from varied age groups and backgrounds, including young adults in correctional programs. Demonstrated ability to apply organisational and conflict resolution skills in remote environments. Understanding of and ability to apply case management skills. Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Basic computer literacy and experience in the use of word processing, computer data base and other software applications. Possess current driver’s licence and have willingness/ability to drive within New South Wales. Common selection criteria also apply.
