Welcome to the 27 March Edition of The Link. This issue brings a reminder that ORIC Membership Renewal is due now. Membership renewal packages were sent out earlier this month, including the Membership DVD, which we hope you found informative.

NOLRS Changes : your chance to comment (back to topic list)
The revision of the NOLRS is now complete and documentation is available for feedback and comment. You are invited to read the revised documents, and make any comments using the Feeback Form. Please note the closing date for feedback is 30th March 2007. The NOLRS overview and Summary will explain all the other documentation.
NOLRS Version 2 introduces registration in the activity areas of Climbing Natural Surfaces, On-Road Cycle Touring,
Mountain Biking, Rafting,
Surfing, Snorkelling, Caving,
Four Wheel Driving
and most recently in
Canyoning.
The following activities have been revised:- Abseiling Artificial, Abseiling Natural, Bushwalking,
Challenge Ropes Courses, Climbing Artificial, Climbing Natural.
Other relevant documents that relate to the registration scheme which are either new or revised, include Equivalent Courses and Competencies, Partnered Providers and Registration Guide

The ORIC Peer Recognition process matches existing skills and knowledge to units of competency, where successful candidates receive a Statement of Attainment in the activity areas and levels of competency assessed. This assessment can occur independent of additional study or training.
