Launch of Teacher Tube (back to topics)
Ian Boyle, The Scots College Glengarry, has created a group at a site called Teacher Tube, an
educational site on the internet where educational videos can be hosted
for free.
The idea behind Ian's initiative is the thought that outdoor education programs could begin to video
model teaching or technical material and post them to this site where it
could become a valuable teaching and learning resource.
Ian has posted some examples onto the site, and wondered if there was scope to get your uni students, participant or
programs involved in producing videos as part of their outdoor ed
experiences? It may make for some interesting assessments, and the end
result is that they are posted on teacher tube.
Ideas could include:
* Model teaching
* Facilitation techniques in action
* Technical how to videos (how to pack a pack, how to cook on a
trangia and the associated safety protocols, things to check for when
crossing a river, how to belay, how to set up a top rope climb using
natural anchors, fixed anchors etc. more>>

Directors be warned! (back to topics)
We are all aware the environment in which we do business continues to rapidly change.
Corporate Governance is greater than ever as is arguably the onus on directors and responsible officer’s personal responsibility arising out of their business life. The upshot being every business needs to strongly consider insuring against these changing factors to adequately protect the personal wealth of directors and officers within their businesses.
Your exposure as a director, or responsible manager, is broadly in two categories:
(1) Defence costs (legal representation and professional advice in defence of the allegation) and (2) Fines & penalties. In the past it has been accepted that statutory fines and penalties cannot be insured. With modern wordings and correct cover, this is now not always the case more>>
