Working With Children Check (WWCC) Changes
for Approved Screening Agency Sport and Recreation

On 1st March 2010, the Approved Screening Agency (ASA) functions at Sport and Recreation will be undertaken centrally by Communities NSW at the Commission for Children and Young People (CCCYP).

Up until and including Friday 26th February 2010, the WWCC will continue to be processed at Sport and Recreation. Any current Checks for organisations after this date will be completed at the Commission for Children and Young People.

To assist with the transition, Sport and Recreation will automatically foward any faxes and phone call received after 26th February 2010 for six months. Please note that your Employer Identification Number remains the same. There will also be direct links from the Sport and Recreation website to the Commission for Children and Young People's webiste for new forms and other information.

In March 2010 there will be new on-line forms for the Working With Children Check and simpler and clearer on-line employer guidelines. The forms will be available on the Commission's website www.kids.nsw.gov.au from 22nd February 2010.

Information from the Commission for Children and Young People will be available shortly and will explain changes in the forms and guidelines.

In the meantime, you are encouraged to begin to use the new forms once they are available on the Commission website. The forms can be completed online by the employer and job applicant to enable more efficient processing and and then printed for signing. Handwritten forms will also be acceptable.
