Taking the Lead on Literacy and Numeracy

Communication skills are an essential element to effective workplace performance and to meeting AQTF 2007 standards in training and assessment.

Service Skills Australia (SSA) has developed '4 Steps to Taking The Lead' a professional development program that works through the useful tips, information and links relating to literacy and numeracy.

The program also reflects the structure of the elective unit within TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, titled TAALLN401B Address language, literacy and numeracy issues within leaning and assessment practice. So participating trainers and assessors will build skills in identifying and addressing language, literacy and numeracy issues, and at the same time can collect evidence for the unit if they choose.
