Recent changes to the law require employers to give existing employees a copy of the Workplace Relations Fact Sheet by 20 October 2007. From 20 July all employees starting a new job must be given a copy within seven days of their start date.

The fact sheet is part of the recent changes to the workplace relations system which have strengthened protections for employees, and include the introduction of the Fairness Test.

From a single download, employers can print out or email the Fact Sheet to their entire workforce.

Barbara Bennett, Director of the Workplace Authority said, "It's important that people know about the work place relations system. The new Fact Sheet provides a clear overview of the system and lets employers and employees know where to go for further information and practical help.

Any employers yet to distribute the Fact Sheet to their workforce should contact us to order their free copies or visit our website to download an electronic copy."

Employers can distribute the Fact Sheet by:

• Providing a hard coy of the Fact Sheet to each employee
• Emailing a copy or a direct link to the Fact Sheet to each employee.
