STANDARDS AUSTRALIA - CLIMBING WALL DRAFT (DR07324)
Standards Australia recently released a draft for comment of new standards for artificial climbing structures and challenge courses (it includes fixed, indoor, outdoor, permanent, temporary and mobile structures (including inflatable climbing structures) and facilities used for climbing, abseiling and bouldering.
The draft standard (DR07324) specifies the minimum requirements for the design, construction, operation, competencies for support personnel, supervision levels, maintenance and testing of fixed and mobile artificial climbing and abseiling walls and associated components.
Due to the depth, breadth and content of the draft and the limited industry consultative time available, we believe an extension for the draft to remain open for public comment is necessary.
If this draft if relevant to your organisation's operations and you support the application for an extension of time for comment, you may choose to express your concerns for an extension, or use the template provided.
