Outdoor Recreation Industry Leaders Think Tank

Service Skills Australia, with the support of the Outdoor Council of Australia, is hosting an Outdoor Recreation Industry Leaders Think Tank.

Representatives from some national organisations, large employers as well as state/territory organisations with an interest in outdoor recreation will be in attendance.

The Invitation is also extended to small and medium enterprises* and is your oppportunity to have your say on issues of concern to you and the future of the outdoor recreation industry.

  • Forum Purpose:
    To identify industry concerns that impact on the Australian outdoor recreation industry and recommend achievable and practical solutions to address these issues.

  • Discussion Points:
    The forum will cover a range of themes such as skills shortages, professionalism, career pathways and the attraction and retention of quality staff.

A workforce development facilitator will conduct the workshop and the outcomes will be consolidated into a report for distribution to relevant stakeholders including industry associations, employeers, government/policy developers and industry practitioners.

(Although travel expenses will not generally be covered by Service Skills, the Outdoor Council of Australia has requested that some financial assistance be provided to ensure a good mix of representation from across the nation - Peter Collins at Service Skills will be able to consider this aspect)
