Leading a group

Three (3) days of guiding bushwalking clients per year in trackless and difficult (or unmodified) terrain. Must include one (1) overnight walk per year

Verified logbook entries

Leading a group must be guiding a group in a natural environment. (Instructing bushwalking is not a registration option). Walks must include at least two (2) different locations over three (3) years

Emergency response and rescue training (ERRT)

Attend over three (3) years either:

 

Three (3) Òin-houseÓ relevant ERRT

OR

A combination of one (1) external relevant ERRT plus at least one (1) other relevant Òin-houseÓ ERRT

Verified logbook entries, certificates issued by training organisation, certificates of attendance from employer

External ERT is training conducted by persons external to the leaders usual work environment (these persons must be recognised training providers)

Professional development (PD)

Attend two (2) relevant conferences, workshops or training events over three (3) years

PLUS

One other example of PD (may include another attendance, study, research or membership of peak industry body, etc)

Certificates of attendance, receipts confirming subscription, supporting documentation

 

Conferences, workshops or training events must bear relevance to the activity units in the registration cluster.

Other occasions may include any other event that broadens or updates the leaders knowledge or skills in their area of registration

Peak industry bodies include, State outdoor rec/education association, Activity specific associations
