"President's Award for Outstanding Services to ORIC"
Dr TRACEY DICKSON

“Tracey was the President of ORIC at the turn of the century. Tracey's time as President was a period of both consolidation and progress. She made great attempts to systematise the work of the organisation and set in train administrative frameworks that are still in existence today.
Her management background resulted in a very well constructed and thoughtful strategic plan - the basis of which remains within current ORIC planning processes.
The progress came about through her leadership and advocacy of training standards. Tracey moved the existing ORIC framework into a professional accreditation scheme that was without peer in Australia. No other outdoor organisation or agency had before developed such a thorough and well considered accreditation scheme. Today, ORIC accreditation remains the gold standard for organisational accreditation in Australia and Tracey must take a great deal of the credit for that standing.
Since leaving the Executive of ORIC, Tracy has continued to make a substantial contribution through her ongoing advocacy of the Accreditation Scheme and her willingness to lead many accreditation teams and pass on her valuable knowledge to others. She has always been most generous with her time, expertise and intellectual property.”
