CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2007
The 2008 Tracks and Trails Conference will build on previous trails conferences aiming to promote discussion and critical evaluation of issues, as well as provide the opportunity to share in advancing the trails agenda nationally. More than merely identifying issues and sharing experiences, speakers and delegates are encouraged to consider future actions and outcomes.
Although quite a few abstracts have already been received, the conference organisers are keen to encourage the participation of all organisations and people involved in tracks and trails from land management agencies, health professionals, outdoor educators through to the public who use them for recreation. Consequently, we have extended the deadline for abstracts to attract a diverse range of speakers who can showcase local trail networks, highlight management issues, investigate environmental, recreational and health benefits of tracks and trails, and debate subjects such as sustainability, standards, impacts, trends and recreational demands.
To submit your abstract for review and to find further details about what is required, please visit http://www.tracksandtrails.org.au/11.html. A total of 19 topic areas covering six different themes have been suggested, although abstracts covering different themes and topics may be submitted. You will be notified of acceptance of your abstract and any further information about your proposed session by 30th November 2007.
