WHAT GETS PEOPLE OUTDOORS AND WHAT STOPS THEM?
Growing and sustaining participation can require attention to a mix of social issues, educational patterns, market forces, financial attention, industrial issues and land issues. |
Biography |
Tony cofounded the Outdoor Education Group in 1984, and is presently CEO. The organisation envisions a world where more people think and act to support: positive relationships with themselves; dynamic, healthy communities; and the sustainability of life.
OEG provides 25,000 students in 70 schools with programs, and employs approximately 200 permanent staff. Tony has a hands off role, as OEG is lead and managed by six Directors. His expertise is in shaking the cage, and balancing mission, financial viability and practical issues in a non-profit organisation.
OEG programs are conducted in Victoria and NSW; most are bush and journey based experiential learning programs ranging from 2 to 32 days in length. The organisation has seven offices, at a range of schools and camps. |
