WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING PUTTING MY CHILD'S LIFE AT RISK?
This workshop will draw upon insights two from two perspectives:
From a review of research on the benefits of outdoor activities, it was clear that those programs that had clear objectives and worked torwards them, had better outcomes for participants
and
Secondly a question: on what basis are you choosing the activities, program design and locations to achieve your objectives?
Could you achieve the same objectives with less risk to people, place and equipment?

| Biography |
Dr Tracey Dickson is currently working in the Centre for Tourism Research Unit.
Her major achievements/awards are Women's Sport and Recreation Administration Scholarship Program, International Travel Scholarship to attend the Wilderness Risk Management Conference in Lake Geneva, WI, USA, October 2001. NSW Sports Safety Awards, 2000 : Winner of the Silver Medal for "Outstanding Educational Promotional Program".
Tracey's qualifications are B Com (Accounting), Grad Dip Ed (Adult Ed), M Ed (Adult Ed), M Com (HRM), PhD (Experiential Learning), Diploma Outdoor Recreation.
Tracey has work experience in Australia, USA and Singapore and her Research interests are -

- Other Commerce, Management, Tourism and Services
- Recreation and Leisure Studies.
Consulting interests are training and development, risk management, campsite accreditation. Tracey is a member of Cooma Ski Club Lodge Ltd and the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors Inc (APSI) and is also Vice President of the Cooma Ski Club Lodge Ltd.
Tracey's interest lies in outdoor and experiential learning, risk management, wilderness experiences, alpine tourism, snowsport injuries, visitor safety, snowsport participation, triple bottom line evaluation. |
