The Outdoor Recreation Industry Council of NSW (ORIC) is recognised as the Peak Body for the Outdoor Recreation Industry in New South Wales, representing the interests of outdoor recreation users in NSW, and assisting the outdoor recreation and education community by providing representation, information, services, resources and training.
ORIC [formerly The Outdoor Professionals (TOPs)] was formed in 1984 as a not-for-profit association to advocate and represent on behalf of the industry in NSW.
ORIC has an expanding membership base and receives support from the NSW Department of Arts, Sport & Recreation, providing a range of services to ORIC members and the wider outdoor industry, endorsing the value of outdoor recreation.
It represents its members to the National and Government bodies influencing important decisions in the areas of

ORIC is a member of the Outdoor Council of Australia (OCA).
OCA is an incorporated association, representing the industry by establishing clear lines of communication with relevant Federal Government Departments and their Ministries in order to initiate and review those policies that have direct relevance to the Outdoor Industry.
