The Outdoor Recreation Industry Council of NSW (ORIC) is a member driven organisation, recognised nationally and by government, as the Peak Industry Body representing the interests of Outdoor Recreation users in NSW, and assisting the outdoor recreation and education community by providing representation, information, services, resources and training.

ORIC [formerly The Outdoor Professionals (TOPs)] was formed in 1984 as a not-for-profit association to advocate and represent on behalf of the industry in NSW.

ORIC provides representation and a range of services to ORIC members and the industry, and affirms the value of outdoor recreation, fostering opportunities for all people to recreate outdoors.  Any monies generated by ORIC is returned to it's members to further its aims and objectives.

ORIC has an expanding membership base and receives support from the Communities NSW, Department of Sport & Recreation, providing a range of services to ORIC members and the wider outdoor industry, endorsing the value of outdoor recreation.

ORIC is a member of the Outdoor Council of Australia, an incorporated national association, representing the industry by establishing clear lines of communication with relevant Federal Government Departments and their Ministries in order to initiate and review those policies that have direct relevance to the broad Outdoor Industry.

The Outdoor Recreation Industry Council (ORIC) is committed to ensuring a high standard of service to all members of the Outdoor Recreation industry and related bodies.  The principles and practices described in a Code of Conduct set out a broad general statement of the standards with which all employees, contractors and Board Members of ORIC are expected to comply.
