Since 1984, the Outdoor Recreation Industry Council has been helping the NSW community to engage with the outdoors and to experience the benefits of outdoor recreation, camping and adventure activities.

We believe engagement and participation in the outdoors, in it's vast array of recreational forms and settings, provides positive and life-changing outcomes in learning, health and wellbeing of participants, and enhances lives individually and collectively.

Our mission is to raise the profile, increase participation, promote access to and develop capacity and opportunity for quality outdoor recreation experiences, environmental and cultural activities in NSW, and play a leading role in promoting and developing the Outdoor Recreation Industry in NSW and beyond.

ORIC's VISION

ORIC seeks to foster the provision of safe, high quality outdoor recreation experiences in NSW by facilitating a professional industry network and providing services and benefits to members.

We aim to provide representation of members and member groups, promotion of members and outdoor activities, advocacy with government and land/water managers, and education of members and the community, and through the support of quality outdoor programs that create a connection with knowledge of self, others and our natural world, and enhance the development of the community of NSW.
