NSW AAS

NSW AAS Committees

The NSW AAS Project was overseen by the Outdoor Recreation Industry Council (ORIC).

A dedicated NSW AAS Working Group Subcommittee was formed by the Board, and a NSW AAS Project Manager appointed.

ORIC gratefully acknowledges the support of the NSW outdoor recreation community who have ensured the NSW AAS are a community driven project.

Individuals representing major sectors in the Outdoor Recreation Community were represented on the Committees; including commercial operators, schools, not-for-profit organisations, training providers, land managers, government departments, clubs and community based groups.

Technical Working Groups
Each individual activity NSW AAS was developed by a Technical Working Group (TWG) made up of 48 individuals of the outdoor recreation and outdoor adventure activity industry.

Activity specific Technical Working Groups (TWG) represented relevant industry expertise.

Once the TWG drafted a particular NSW AAS it was released for public comment.  Industry and community input, comment, amendment and suggested changes were received and fed back through the TWGs for further redrafting.  This process was repeated through the TWGs until Version 1 documents were produced for presentation to Steering Committee.

Public comments were received through Information Forums, via the on-line feedback mechanism, via email, phone and and direct consultations.
